I had been running on a fairly frequent cadence sending out posts…..but have not been sending as many out lately, like the last few weeks, the cadence has definitely slowed down
Several of you have reached out concerned, checking in, and that is sooooo appreciated
We seem to be in a state of stability, in a state of consideration of what the right next moves are to make as we look ahead
I’m currently in Virginia with my Mom, spending time with her, looking forward to seeing the extended family tomorrow at my cousin Bill’s big 50th firm anniversary party / new partner celebration event
Mean while, back at the Farm House, Matt is spending quality time with his sister Cornelia and her husband Jim
Its been so nice, so amazing, having all his sisters, Cornelia, Barbara and Terri involved in so many of these discussions
They bring, each in their own way, so much to the table, the addage “many hands makes light work” fits well here not only physically but emotionally as well
Right now the focus is on where, when, how, and if, to move Matt into a memory care community
I’ve done alot of baseline research, visited atleast 10 facilities in the area, including Marin, Petaluma, Napa and Healdsburg
Unfortunately the one place he said back in the good ole days he favored is out of the picture, regardless of how hard I worked to make that happen
The Redwoods likely will not have an opening in the time period that we’d likely need to make the decision to move him
The tricky part is trying to figure out which one of the available options Matt may feel more comfortable with, living in, thriving in
So Cornelia is helping with that while I am gone
Mean while I am here hanging out here in Virginia with my Mom
So its all good, no big drama at the moment….just alot of family time on both coasts in different groupings than the everyday
It feels like we might be possibly in the eye of a storm…..its calm now, but expectations aren’t that it will stay that way for ever…….something will happen to stir the pot no doubt!
