As I lay in bed this morning, allowing thoughts to freely run around in my head, I couldn’t help but think about the ratio of Matt to Uncle Lewy
How much of my Matt am I seeing, living with, how much of the man is driven by Uncle Lewy now?
Based on this weekend, there seems to be a complete takeover, Uncle Lewy definitely has a higher proportion of the ratio
I wrote about Saturdays falls, 2 in a day
Sunday morning when Matt woke up, it was like he had been part of a murder scene (slight exaggeration)
His hair was matted with blood, blood stains were all over his t shirt and the jeans he chose to sleep in
The pillow case, pillow inside and sheets were all stained with blood that clearly came from his head wound from the fall Saturday evening
When I checked on him Saturday night, the head wound from the fall wasn’t bleeding, I had put a bleed stop powder on it because I know head wounds can bleed alot
Plus, the placement of it was akward…..there was no way to put a maxi pad like we did in Scotts Valley in May on his head without having to effectively give him a chin strap
I didn’t see that surviving the night…..so I opted for the bleed stop powder
But I guess in the middle of the night he must have scratched it or something because it definitely bleed all over the pillows and sheets
In the morning, he decided to move throughout the house, sleeping in all beds, painting smaller murder scenes
I spent the entire day yesterday doing laundry on the bedding cycle
He went upstairs, it’s warm up there mid afternoon….thud….fall 3 for the weekend
Now his elbow was bleeding
Head, elbow, toe……he was a mess
Blood drops were also randomly scattered through out the house on the floor where he dripped as he moved around
The worst was his head…..blood was matted in his hair
I applied warm wash clothes, cleaned as much as I could so no domestic violence charges would be brought….should anyone dare to visit this house of horror
But around the head bump I didn’t want to disturb the clotting, at Susan’s sage advise
Later Sunday, he continued to be a complete pill when he wasn’t laying in a bed
All day Sunday I was sick to my stomach, more convinced than ever before that his behavior is now “beyond my pay grade”
As I thought about the process of putting him in some sort of appropriate care home, it dawned on me how little of my Matt is there
He is still there, but in smaller and smaller ratio to that damned Uncle Lewy character
In the middle of the night Sunday he was wandering around
I got up, found him, asked him what he was doing
He whispered……I said “ I can’t hear you when you whisper”…..he kept whispering….he can speak up when he wants to
Uncle Lewy is literally trying to drive me insane
Uncle Lewy is seemingly in full control now…..
I think we’ve reached the time to see if we can find a place that will be better for him, full time care……..now it’s a matter of doing the work to determine where
We’ll see where this week leads us, the ground work was laid last week, now its about research, visits, all that stuff
