We had 5 riders, now 6! Matts sister Barbara is joining us! Whoot whoot!

We are now 5 weeks out from the ride–September 19th

I am really glad to be doing this because I am learning a lot, I have exercise motivation and we are able to as a family channel energy in this positive direction

During the last few weeks, Matt’s nephew Justin, Barbs step son, has under gone brain surgery to implant devices to enable Deep Brain Stimulation—a treatment technique he believes will improve his quality of life

Justin has Parkinson’s, his symptoms are rigidity (versus tremors)

He is so very brave right now, not only electing to do this surgery, but he is posting concurrently how he is doing as he heals from the procedures and walks toward the beginning of this new treatment

His goal is to raise awareness, help others who are in search of answers

Just recently he posted a video of how he feels when he gets up in the morning, very stiff, rigid

He’s been posting quite frequently since the surgery, and very soon I think he’ll begin the process of experiencing the potential benefits from the implants

There is so much strength here thru the vulnerability he is sharing with the larger “we” in the world

So we ride on September for Justin too, I think about him every time I jump on my peleton to get ready for the ride

A cure is what we need…..both these handsome men are only getting symptom treatments–we need to find a cure!
