When we moved here in 2024, we leased the farm house we are in with the understanding the owners intended to move back in summer 2026
Their son would be graduating and they’d then be free to move back to Sonoma
It seemed like a reasonable agreement to make given the uncertainty of our journey
We had a line on a great place in San Rafael, near the water, but moving itself was a daunting task and the particular property was subject to the current tenants finding a house they wanted to buy
I “poked the bear” (ie, contacted the owners) to see what they were thinking about the timing of them moving back in to the farm house
Well, as it turns out, they were open to us extending our stay here
After a few back and forths, we have now officially extended our stay here at the farm house for another year, through atleast March 2027!
That means more swim time for Sheba, Juno, Gus
More hang out by the pool time for all of us
Its such a great place to hang out in the afternoon….well anytime of the day
More floaty pool skims chasing the sun in the afternoon
The big thing is we don’t have to spend this summer packing up and moving
That’s a huge relief, it would have been a daunting project for me
We now really see how much we have put into place a supportive community right here in Sonoma
So staying here means more pool parties like the one coming up on April 4th
My friend Debbie has pulled together a small band that will be playing
Its a “bring your own stick” kind of thing as these guys haven’t played together
I’ve always wanted to have a jam session at a party!
If you are local and you can make it, Noon to 4 (or whenever we decide to wrap)
Its BYOB something to share food and drink wise; we’ll provide a few things to start and some oysters for the grill
Very casual……so drop by if you are in the area…..dogs welcome but you’ll want to keep an eye on the pups as the gate may be opening and closing as people come and go
Sheba has become a wonderful hostess…..she’ll show your pup around the yard and all
I digress…..we are excited to look forward to being here another year and grateful for all the prayers that paved the way!
